about me, molli wentworth king

i’m the owner of fairwind llc (2024) and i live at the end of the pemaquid peninsula in new harbor, maine. my passions include contemporary art, writing, reading, cooking without a recipe, bringing my dogs with me everywhere, and convincing my husband it’s not that big of a project (fixing-up our old house) when it presumably is.

my childhood has definitely influenced who i am today; my father is an abstract painter, and my mother is a literary publicist; their passions transferred over to me. growing up between the puget sound and southern maine, i’m deeply rooted in a bi-coastal lifestyle. before returning to maine as an adult, i spent 7 years out west living in a boat on the san francisco bay.

i graduated from tufts university and the museum school of art with a dual degree in 2012 and was fortunate enough to spend an extra studio year abroad, in strasbourg, france.

my career in the art world began interning for Lisson Gallery in New York and continued in San Francisco at Berggruen Gallery and Adrian Rosenfeld Gallery before moving into the tech-world at Autodesk for a few years. now i’m happily self employed, focusing on the things i love the most—supporting artists, writers and readers.

2025 will be my fourth year on the newburyport literary festival committee! This year the festival celebrates 20 years—it’s free and open to all, with in-person and online events—join us.
